Ted The Poet - The Harder They Fall текст песни

Текст песни The Harder They Fall - Ted The Poet

Ted the Poet, the bar-spitter
The hard hitter
Hitting harder than hard liquor, and far sicker
I'm all withered and often get called bitter
But it caused quicker thoughts and a glimpse at the broad picture
I fought inner monsters who got bigger
With a sharp wit and a heart, guess who was not winner
Call timber, the taller they are, the harder they fall
Me? I'm not injured
I'm stronger than y'all figured
Ready for war with my head as the sword
If I don't use it, I know that I'll be dead in the morgue
Sometimes I lose it, at times I know it's severed for sure
And I abuse it, so I can't say I've never been tortured
My own enemy, sworn nemesis
Twenty or more stitches
Living Civil War, Nick Fury and Thor in it
Hulk smashing everything, couldn't be more livid
It was like this before bitches, I was born with it
Sore-fisted, more twisted than gore pictures
Horn-templed, short-tempered if you're fickle
There's the door, get it, deport people like orange bigots
Then I pour whiskey and coke, mix it, and go sip it
Like where was my support system?
Every time I hit record, feel like it's pointless because no one listens
But I could never forfeit this, it is forbidden
The price would be exorbitant, can't afford it
I am forever
Ted the Poet, the bar-spitter
The hard hitter
Hitting harder than hard liquor, and far sicker
I'm all withered and often get called bitter
But it caused quicker thoughts and a glimpse at the broad picture
I fought inner monsters who got bigger
With a sharp wit and a heart, guess who was not winner
Call timber, the taller they are, the harder they fall
Me? I'm not injured
I'm stronger than y'all figured
Been spittin' this shit since the very beginnin'
Gon' be still spittin' this shit when I'm married with children
In the cemetery, I'm chillin', getting buried within it
When you visit, feel the scariest feelin', swear you hear lyrics
The devil made a deal, but it isn't very appealin'
And when I say "The Devil" you think of everyone's villain
But I don't have imaginary friends when I stare at the ceiling
Our devil's ain't the same, but they surely bear a resemblance
Being poor got heavy, then came the heavier pours
And Teddy engorged until he wished he never was born
Left a job I dreamt of, felt like I abandoned the Corps
Left a girl I never wed, felt like a messy divorce
Went through shit I just erased that I would never record
Rose from the grave to settle the score
This life tested me more in a couple years
Than all the rest of them morphed
Came back stronger than ever before, 'cause bitch
That's what I do
