God's plan of redemption is progressively done
The Old Testament is about the death of a Son
And a resurrection to come
But this is seen in several aspects of the text that are One:
First in this verse I′m spitting, turn attention
To death and resurrection in the theme of Circumcision
Adam was God′s human son in His image (Gen. 1:26; Luke 3:38)
Commissioned to reproduce tons that are sinless (Gen. 1:28)
Who love God with all their heart and their soul
So His just Law always they'd guard and uphold
Adam was to pass on God′s image through his offspring
But since the Fall, his children are wicked and they all sin!
Now they reproduce a ghastly sinner!
So God comes to Abraham a 2nd Adam figure
Blesses him "to be fruitful" with
"Multiplication" (Gen. 12:2-3; 17:2-6)
This promise to Abram
Is to resurrect all of the nations! (Gen. 12:3; 17:4-5)
And CIRCUMCISION is the SIGN OF THIS COVENANT (Gen. 17:10)
A picture of (1) blessing,
And a reminder of (2) punishment (a curse!):
DUAL SANCTIONS, its double meaning:
The blessing is the fallen-Adam-nature of his sons He's cleaning
Thus enforcing, them to cut their foreskin
CLEANSING symbolized on the reproductive organ (Gen. 17:11, 13b)
To reproduce image bearers
Who love God, it′s HIM they cherish (Gen. 18:19)
In covenant like in a marriage! 7
But CIRCUMCISION also has a curse within it
For "cut off" 'CaRaT′ (כּ רַָת) is the Hebrew verb that's written
Because just as Yahweh showed that IF HE BREAKS HIS PROMISE
HE'LL BE CUT OFF like how when He slayed
The carcass (Gen. 15:17-18; Jer. 34:18-19)
Likewise any uncircumcised one in the nation,
Not circumcised in heart, but they′re faking (Jer. 9:25-
26)
Here′s the judgment they're facing:
They′re "cut off" (כּ רַָת) from God, EXILED, for t
Heir covenant breaking ('CaRaT′)! (Gen. 17:14)

By what CIRCUMCISION is meant, is seen
Most of all in Deuteronomy chapter 10:16=
"Circumcise the foreskin of your heart"
Instead of them being stubbornly sinful and hard
Without this, there is no keeping of the Law (Deut. 10:12-13)
Although receiving it in awe,
Moses sees that they will fall (Deut. 4:30)
"Cut Off" from Yahweh for evil that they sought (Deut. 30:1)
But God will do what they can′t
Because His people—they are flawed! (Deut. 30:6)
So in God′s Word it's written:
Restoration and Return from Exile will
Come with HEART-CIRCUMCISION (Deut. 30:3-6)
That′s the True-Abundant Gift, Deuteronomy 30:1 through 6
The promise of the New Covenant!
As I read it, my eyes get large:
Yahweh promises to circumcise their hearts!
(Deut. 30:6; Jer. 31:33; 32:38-40; Eze. 11:16-20)
Because Resurrection, being performed, is essential
Both on an individual and a corporate level
Hence Ezekiel 36 and 37
The Spirit works the blessing of New Birth and Resurrection
Because the Same One who removes hearts of stone (Ezekiel 36:26)
Also resurrects from the tomb, fallen bones! (Ezekiel 37:1-28)
And all these promises start to be accomplished by God
When One Israelite turns to Him with all of His heart!
All these promises start to be accomplished by God
When a Torah (Law)-Keeper turned to Him
With all of His heart! (Deut. 30:2, 10)

Every commandment—He did them, the Lamb—He was given
To be "cut off out of the land of the living" (Isaiah 53:8)
When He was destroyed for you
He was bearing the covenant curse that
Circumcision pointed to (Gen. 17:14; Gal. 3:13)
Cut off from the Father, stricken with stripes
Paul calls the Cross "the Circumcision of Christ!" (Colossians 2:11)
He buried the old, Adam order,
Then risen with might (Col. 2:12; Rom. 6:4)
As Life-Giving Spirit, He's the Giver of Life (1 Cor. 15:45)
So "we are the True Circumcision" (Philippians 3:3)
A part of His New Creation
His renewed Church that's in Him (Gal. 6:13-16)
Raised up by His grace, so we′re able to obey (Rom. 6:13-18)
And PUT OFF the old Adam slave
Who′s in the grave (Col. 2:11=Col 3:9-10)
Renewed in the Image of the Son,
Restored (Eph. 4:22-24; Col. 3:10; Rom. 8:29)
With circumcised hearts now we can love the
LORD! (Rom. 2:28-29; Deut. 30:6; Rom. 8:2-4)
We were headed for hell, we couldn't better our selves
God′s solution was Colossians 2:11 through 12
Christ "PUT OFF the body of the flesh" (Col. 2:11)
That's the Romans 6:6 "body of sin" in bondage to death
THE CROSS WAS THE INSTRUMENT (Col. 2:11; Gal. 2:20; Gal. 6:14-15)
To end sin′s imprisonment (Rom. 6:6)
Buried together, the Tomb we went IN WITH HIM (Col. 2:11=Rom. 6:4)
So now Circumcision and Baptism
Point to Union with Christ who has Risen
Instead of Circumcision, it's the Sacrament that′s given
So go baptize your kids if you have children!

Gottes Erlösungsplan entfaltet sich schrittweise
Das Alte Testament handelt vom Tod eines Sohnes
Und einer kommenden Auferstehung
Aber dies zeigt sich in mehreren Aspekten des Textes, die Eins sind:
Zuerst in diesem Vers, den ich vortrage, lenke die Aufmerksamkeit
Auf Tod und Auferstehung im Thema der Beschneidung
Adam war Gottes menschlicher Sohn in Seinem Bild (1. Mose 1:26; Lk 3:38)
Beauftragt, massenhaft Sündlose hervorzubringen (1. Mose 1:28)
Die Gott lieben mit ihrem ganzen Herzen und ihrer ganzen Seele
Sodass sie Sein gerechtes Gesetz immer bewahren und aufrechterhalten würden
Adam sollte Gottes Bild durch seine Nachkommen weitergeben
Aber seit dem Sündenfall sind seine Kinder böse und sie alle sündigen!
Jetzt bringen sie einen grässlichen Sünder hervor!
Da kommt Gott zu Abraham, einer zweiten Adam-Figur
Segnet ihn, "fruchtbar zu sein" mit
"Vermehrung" (1. Mose 12:2-3; 17:2-6)
Diese Verheißung an Abram
Ist, alle Nationen auferstehen zu lassen! (1. Mose 12:3; 17:4-5)
Und die BESCHNEIDUNG ist das ZEICHEN DIESES BUNDES (1. Mose 17:10)
Ein Bild des (1) Segens,
Und eine Erinnerung an (2) Strafe (ein Fluch!):
DOPPELTE SANKTIONEN, ihre doppelte Bedeutung:
Der Segen ist, dass Er die gefallene Adam-Natur seiner Söhne reinigt
Daher erzwingend, dass sie ihre Vorhaut beschneiden
REINIGUNG, symbolisiert am Fortpflanzungsorgan (1. Mose 17:11, 13b)
Um Ebenbilder hervorzubringen
Die Gott lieben, IHN schätzen sie wert (1. Mose 18:19)
Im Bund wie in einer Ehe! 7
Aber die BESCHNEIDUNG birgt auch einen Fluch in sich
Denn "abgeschnitten" ‘CaRaT′ (כּ רַָת) ist das hebräische Verb, das geschrieben steht
Denn so wie Jahwe zeigte, dass WENN ER SEINE VERHEISSUNG BRICHT
ER ABGESCHNITTEN WIRD, wie damals, als Er
Den Kadaver durchschritt (1. Mose 15:17-18; Jer 34:18-19)
Ebenso jeder Unbeschnittene in der Nation,
Nicht im Herzen beschnitten, sondern sie täuschen es vor (Jer 9:25-
26)
Hier ist das Gericht, dem sie gegenüberstehen:
Sie werden "abgeschnitten" (כּ רַָת) von Gott, VERBANNT, für i
hren Bundesbruch (‘CaRaT′)! (1. Mose 17:14)

Was mit BESCHNEIDUNG gemeint ist, sieht man
Vor allem in Deuteronomium Kapitel 10:16=
"Beschneidet die Vorhaut eures Herzens"
Anstatt dass sie halsstarrig sündig und hart sind
Ohne dies gibt es kein Halten des Gesetzes (Dtn 10:12-13)
Obwohl sie es mit Ehrfurcht empfangen,
Sieht Mose, dass sie fallen werden (Dtn 4:30)
"Abgeschnitten" von Jahwe für das Böse, das sie suchten (Dtn 30:1)
Aber Gott wird tun, was sie nicht können
Weil Sein Volk – sie sind fehlerhaft! (Dtn 30:6)
So steht in Gottes Wort geschrieben:
Wiederherstellung und Rückkehr aus dem Exil werden
Mit HERZENSBESCHNEIDUNG kommen (Dtn 30:3-6)
Das ist die wahre, überreiche Gabe, Deuteronomium 30:1 bis 6
Die Verheißung des Neuen Bundes!
Während ich es lese, werden meine Augen groß:
Jahwe verspricht, ihre Herzen zu beschneiden!
(Dtn 30:6; Jer 31:33; 32:38-40; Hes 11:16-20)
Weil Auferstehung, die vollzogen wird, essentiell ist
Sowohl auf individueller als auch auf gemeinschaftlicher Ebene
Daher Hesekiel 36 und 37
Der Geist wirkt den Segen der Wiedergeburt und Auferstehung
Denn Derselbe, der steinerne Herzen entfernt (Hesekiel 36:26)
Lässt auch aus dem Grab gefallene Gebeine auferstehen! (Hesekiel 37:1-28)
Und all diese Verheißungen beginnen, von Gott erfüllt zu werden
Wenn Ein Israelit sich mit seinem ganzen Herzen zu Ihm wendet!
All diese Verheißungen beginnen, von Gott erfüllt zu werden
Wenn ein Tora (Gesetz)-Halter sich zu Ihm wandte
Mit seinem ganzen Herzen! (Dtn 30:2, 10)

Jedes Gebot – Er erfüllte sie, das Lamm – Er wurde gegeben
Um "aus dem Land der Lebendigen weggerafft zu werden" (Jesaja 53:8)
Als Er für euch zerstört wurde
Trug Er den Bundesfluch, auf den
Die Beschneidung hinwies (1. Mose 17:14; Gal 3:13)
Abgeschnitten vom Vater, geschlagen mit Striemen
Paulus nennt das Kreuz "die Beschneidung Christi!" (Kolosser 2:11)
Er begrub die alte Adam-Ordnung,
Dann auferstanden mit Macht (Kol 2:12; Röm 6:4)
Als lebendig machender Geist ist Er der Geber des Lebens (1. Kor 15:45)
Daher sind "wir die wahre Beschneidung" (Philipper 3:3)
Ein Teil Seiner Neuen Schöpfung
Seine erneuerte Gemeinde, die in Ihm ist (Gal 6:13-16)
Auferweckt durch Seine Gnade, sodass wir fähig sind zu gehorchen (Röm 6:13-18)
Und LEGT AB den alten Adam-Sklaven
Der im Grabe ist (Kol 2:11=Kol 3:9-10)
Erneuert im Bild des Sohnes,
Wiederhergestellt (Eph 4:22-24; Kol 3:10; Röm 8:29)
Mit beschnittenen Herzen können wir nun den
HERRN lieben! (Röm 2:28-29; Dtn 30:6; Röm 8:2-4)
Wir waren auf dem Weg zur Hölle, wir konnten uns nicht selbst bessern
Gottes Lösung war Kolosser 2:11 bis 12
Christus "legte den Leib des Fleisches AB" (Kol 2:11)
Das ist der "Leib der Sünde" aus Römer 6:6, in Knechtschaft des Todes
DAS KREUZ WAR DAS INSTRUMENT (Kol 2:11; Gal 2:20; Gal 6:14-15)
Um die Gefangenschaft der Sünde zu beenden (Röm 6:6)
Zusammen begraben, ins Grab gingen wir MIT IHM hinein (Kol 2:11=Röm 6:4)
So weisen nun Beschneidung und Taufe
Auf die Vereinigung mit Christus hin, der auferstanden ist
Anstelle der Beschneidung ist es das Sakrament, das gegeben wird
Also geht hin und tauft eure Kinder, wenn ihr Kinder habt!
