سحر شد بر فلک چون دود آهی
زدریاها به صحراها گذر کرد
به هر بام و به هر گلشن نظرکرد
گلی پژمرده دید و سرفکنده
گرفته دررخش غم جای خنده
شده از تشنگی سوزان وکوشد
مگراز جام ابر آبی بنوشد
چنان آشفته شد آن ابر و بی تاب
که شد از گریه سرتا پای او آب
زبالا سوی پایین شد روانه
به گل جان داد و خود رفت از میانه

Grey Cloud

From the azure sea, a dark cloud arose,
At dawn, like a sigh of smoke, it kissed the skies.
From the seas to the deserts, it wandered far,
Gazing upon every roof and every garden with care.
It saw a withered flower, its head bowed low,
Grief etched upon its face, replacing any glow.
Parched with thirst, it yearned and strained,
To drink from the cup of a cloud, relief to gain.
So distraught and restless became the cloud above,
That it wept until its whole being was awash with love.
From the heavens to the earth, it flowed down,
Gave life to the flower, then vanished from renown.
