It's so strange to be seventeen
An odd place to be stuck between

And a legal adult at eighteen
I've always hated changing and growing up
But in order to stop I'd have to interrupt
The growth but it would be too abrupt

This year I'll finally be in twelfth grade
I already watched twelve useless years fade
I've lost most of the friends that I've ever made
They all found new friends to them it's an upgrade

None of my friends from freshman year stayed the same
I guess it's true nobody can escape change
Most of them prolly don't remember my name
Most of them would say that I'm the one to blame
The pain hurts different depending on the day
I didn't know something could hurt in this way

They left me all alone without a plan
