Songtexte I Moved South (Commentary) - Delta Rae
I
told
you
it
was
catchy!
That's
"A
Long
and
Happy
Life"
from
Delta
Rae,
and
we
are
Celebrating
the
release
of
their
new
EP,
which
is
available
now!
You
can
download
it
wherever
you
download
your
music
And
before
we
play
the
next
song,
I
wanted
to
ask,
I
mean
With
six
of
you,
I'm
sure
there
has
to
be
sort
of
a
Sibling
dynamic,
aside
from
the
three
siblings
in
the
band
And
with
every
sibling
relationship,
there
are
always
Gonna
be
squabbles
and,
you
know,
you
get
under
each
Other's
skin,
so
how
do
you
all
deal
with
that
as
a
band?
I
mean,
do
you
just
know
to
walk
away
from
each
Other?
Is
there
a
peacekeeper
in
the
band?
Um,
noise-cancelling
headphones
Yeah,
those
are
a
real
help
Uh,
we
actually,
you
know,
we've
been
doing
this
For
so
long
now
that
we've
gotten
into
a
pretty
Great
rhythm,
um,
and
we're
such
good
friends
You
know,
the
unfortunate
thing,
I
feel
badly
for
Mike
Grant
and
Liz
'
Cause
they
frequently
have
to
deal
with
some
unearthed
family
dynamic
That,
you
know,
came
out
of
some
trauma
when
we
Were
squabbling
over
a
toy
or
something
back
In
the
day
and,
uh,
it's
manifesting
itself
now
Right,
I'm
sorry
about
that,
Eric,
I've
said
it
so
many
times
No,
but,
uh,
but
then
there's
also,
you
know,
new
internal
dynamics
We've
been
doing
this
for
seven
years
and
spending
All
our
time
together,
so
we
try
and
bring
Mike
Grant
And
Liz
into
as
many,
uh,
fights
as
we
possibly
can
Yeah,
I
think
it,
I
think
it's
definitely
worth
saying
If
we're
gonna
be
honest
with
our
audience,
that
we
do
Squabble,
but
I
think
that,
like
in
any
good
relationship
Those
things
make
you
stronger,
and
luckily
nobody's
quit
yet
Yes,
thank
goodness
nobody
has
quit
So
tell
me
about
"I
Moved
South,"
and
I
love
this
song,
by
the
way
Thank
you
so
much!
"I
Moved
South"
is
the
story
of
us
starting
this
band
So,
um,
the
first
line
is
"I
lived
in
California,"
and
I
sing
that
And
that's
true,
I
was
living
in
California
when
we
started
And
then
Liz
sings
"I
was
working
in
Manhattan,"
and,
yeah,
and
that's
true
too
So,
we,
uh,
got
an
email
from
Eric
asking
us
to
join
this
band
And,
and,
you
know,
for
me,
moving
back
to
the
South
was
Like
a
real
homecoming,
and
I
had
so
many
memories
of
my
Childhood
there
that
were
just
absolutely
romantic
and
wonderful
And
I
think
for
Liz
it
was,
um,
a
place
That
she
had
to
grow
to
love
or,
you
know
Yeah,
it
was,
it
was
just
a
huge
adventure
I
knew
that
my
friends
would
be
there
when
I
got
there,
I
knew
that
Ian,
Eric
and
Brit
would
be
the
only
people
that
I
knew
in
North
Carolina
for
a
while,
but
that,
that
certainly
changed,
and
um
But
that
line
in
the
song,
"Where
my
Friends
take
care
of
me,"
you
know,
I
think
It's
still
very
true
Yeah
I
love
that
song
and
it's
very
special
every
time
we
perform
it
Because
it,
it's
our
story
and
it's
autobiographical,
but
even
when
We're
singing
it
in,
you
know,
we
could
be
singing
it
in,
in
Massachusetts
and
it
feels
like
it
resonates
with
people
everywhere
Just
every
time
we
break
into
"And
so
we
moved
down
south
where
they
Still
play
rock
and
roll,"
I
think
people
just
love
the
spirit
of
That
line
and
the
idea
of
the
fact
that
we're
Kind
of,
we're
carrying
this
torch
of
storytelling
Into
every
town
that
we
stop
in
on
our
tours
Yeah,
and,
and
I
really
think
it's
special
To
us
'cause
it's
Liz
and
my
only
duet
It
is
And
we
love
to
sing
together
And
it's
one
where
we
really
can
kinda
like
put
Our
arms
around
each
other
and,
um,
belt
it
out
Well,
Britney
and
Liz,
I
think
you
two
sound
Fantastic
on
this
song,
it
just
makes
me
wanna
dance
This
is
"I
Moved
South,"
