Songtexte No Peace In Quiet (Commentary) - Delta Rae
Jill
Riley:
We're
talking
to
Delta
Rae
today
on
Big
Machine
Radio
About
their
new
EP,
which
was
just
released.
It's
got
four
fantastic
Songs.
We're
playing
'em
all
now
during
this
EP
release
special
And
before
we
get
to
the
next
song,
which
by
the
way
is
so
powerful
And
amazing,
you
don't
want
to
miss
it,
I
was
just
wondering
I
know
when
I
talk
to
solo
artists,
a
lot
of
them
will
say
that
Their
album
or
the
songs
that
they
picked,
it
reflects
their
life
Their
personal
journey,
but
with
six
of
you,
I'm
wondering
how
You
determine
what
to
put
on
your
albums.
Is
there
like
a
litmus
Test
that
determines
what
is
a
Delta
Rae
song,
or
do
you
ever
Run
into
a
case
where
majority
rules
or
how
is
that
decision
made?
Ali
Mauz:
Great
question.
Um,
you
know,
we've
actually
been
struggling
With
that,
uh,
I
think,
over
the
past
seven
years,
what
is
a
Delta
Rae
song,
and
we
had
a
pretty
wide
scope
of
what
would
be
a
Delta
Rae
song
in
the
past,
and
we
kind
of
sang
and
played
whatever
came
To
us
in
that
moment
and,
and
followed
the
muses
wherever
they
took
Us,
but
these
days,
a
Delta
Rae
song
I
think
really
has
to
tell
A
good
story,
have
a
southern
flair,
and
this
album,
we,
we
wrote
70,
Over
70
songs,
um,
for
the
album,
and
took
the,
the
cream
off
The
top.
Just
the
top
ten
that
I
think
really
distilled
our
vision
For
this
band
and
showed
our
roots
and
showed
the
direction
that
That
we
want
to
move
going
forward.
So,
there's
been
some,
uh
Debate.
Sometimes
people
advocate
for
songs
more
than
others
and
Sometimes
we're
disappointed
when
songs
don't
make
the
cut,
but
That's
something
that
I
think
kind
of
makes
us
special
is
there's
There's
rarely
a
fight
about
that.
It's
kind
of
a,
we
believe
so
Strongly
in
doing
what's
right
for
the
band
that
those
disagreements
Filter
out
and
the
right
choice
kind
of
comes
to
us,
um,
naturally
Jill
Riley:
Based
on
the
songs
on
your
EP,
I'd
say
whatever
system
You're
using
to
pick
your
music,
you
are
doing
a
great
job
And
I
want
to
talk
about
this
next
song
because
I
had
a
chance
To
see
you
guys
perform
this
one
live,
and
it
just
killed
me
It's
called
"No
Peace
in
Quiet,"
and,
uh,
I
can
tell
that
it
just
Comes
from
such
an
emotional
place,
so
tell
me
about
this
song
Whew!
I
don't
know
if
I'm
ready
to
talk
about
that
song
yet
Um,
"No
Peace
in
Quiet"
I
wrote
with
two
great,
uh,
Nashville
Writers,
Adam
Wood
and
Tiffany
Goss,
and
I
think
that
song
is
Is
about,
well
for
me,
it's
about
needing
to
get
used
to
a
Quiet
house
after
a
breakup
and
how
hard
that
is,
and,
uh
I
actually
just
moved
to
Nashville
because
I
couldn't
get
used
To
it,
so,
um,
but
I
know
it's
something
different
for
everybody
Yeah,
I
think
it's
been,
I
think
it's
been
really
interesting,
um
Performing
that
song
on
the
road
as
well
because
when
we
speak
to
People
after
the
shows,
it's
clear
that
that
song
resonates
with
People
for
all
different
reasons.
For
someone,
it
might
be
about
A
breakup.
For
another
person,
it's
about
when
they
had
to
put
Their
family's
cat
to
sleep
after,
you
know,
12
years
of
that
person
Being
like
a
member
of
their
family.
For
others,
it's
losing
a
Parent
or
losing,
losing
anyone
that's
close
to
you.
I
think
it
Offers
a
lot
of
catharsis
for
anyone
that's
ever
gone
through
an
Experience
of
just
having
to
get
used
to
life
without
whoever
that
That
person,
creature,
might
be
that,
that
meant
the
world
to
you
