So, "Drown" is the first song that we recorded in the studio, in the album process
It was also the last one that I wrote just before going in
Um, it sort of deals with the push and pull of desire and pain, um, and that sort of masochistic territory that you enter, um, sort of enjoying it
Um, and we made a video for it where, um, I was, you know, actually being drowned in an underwater studio, um
Which was an amazing experience, um, hard work, uh, you know, pushing-pushing myself all day to the point of drowning
But I just really wanted to get across that sort of strange, ethereal beauty you get underwater
Um, obviously reflecting the lyrics and the title itself, and that shimmery guitar part that we have going over the top
Um, so yeah, that was quite a fun experience, but I'm very pleased with the result
