Speedy Justice - Friends Songtexte

Songtexte Friends - Speedy Justice

They put their best throwaway clothes on every morning
Caffeinate to the radio at dawning
Got stories waiting for the time they have to talk
It's just a price they're paying
They spend their waking hours with people they don't like
They judge and curse complain to make it alright
And single out the poor to lose at their fight
They're not your friends
They're not your friends
No matter how much you do
Spend all your time money too
Sacrifice the best life's given you
But
They're not your friends
You can support their shallow dreams
No matter how unrealistic it seems
Cause you want them to feel secure in their scene
But even if you succeed
They're not your friends
They have to feel they're better than you
Younger richer stronger sharper than you
You need to take on the lesser role
For them to feel ok with their lives
And anything bad that happens to you
They somehow feel content and peaceful down deep
They empathize with malevolence
They feel better than you
Maybe they are better than you
But if I had to choose a lifetime friend
To take on some apocalyptic end
I'd choose one of you over 100 of them
Cause I can trust you
Yeah I can trust you
You can't choose your family
You can't choose your friends
Just have to be the person you wish they'd been
To love and be cursed still ain't a sin
It's just how they were taught to be
Not what was instilled in me
Best you can do it set them free
Let them be
