My first marriage ended so quickly, it's still hard to believe
What happened that made this brief marriage so very soon done?
Its true we were both very young and of course so naive
But a Peeping Tom led to the premature end of our union

We'd only just moved in and boxes of stuff still unpacking
We didn't have time to hang curtains, our windows uncovered
Our big bedroom window was a heavily wooded park backing
A peeping tom prowled through the woods as we later discovered

While we were sleeping
We were watched by a peeping Tom

One night we had finished engaging in kinky romancing
We were 19 years old and we both might have had just a slight buzz
I was wearing high heels but I was 19 and might have had just a slight buzz
As we lay in bed resting I noticed a flash light beam dancing
And I crept to the window to see what the source of the light was

As I peered though the window I saw two eyes looking back at me
I was startled and had to look two or three times his gaze meeting

I chased him off, man was I angry, more than that I was frightened
I insisted we cover that window and my young wife complied
My fight or flight nervous responses engaged and were heightened
We fell back asleep with my baseball bat right by my side

From that evening forward I couldn't sleep uninterrupted
I'd hear noises and spring from the bed with my bat in hand ready
Our sexual congresses ceased or were quickly disrupted
And our fledgling young marriage in trouble due to something so petty

Sometimes my own wife, knowing full well my state of hysteria
With her fingers would tap on the wall, was the peeper back peeping?
And I'd spring from the bed bat in hand scoping out the whole area
And then I'd hear her laugh loudly at her young husband crazed from not sleeping

Our marriage was in trouble as for months was I this way behaving
I just couldn't help it, obsessed by this peeping tom stalker
The white flag of surrender my wife was reluctantly waving
And her parents to came to free her from her husband who was now off his rocker

So her parents came and got her
All because of peeping Tom
