Many people cannot find employment owing to a lack of proper skills
Training. Despite job creation programmes and
Employment equity laws,unemployment remains high in south African.
III HEALTH AND INADEQUATE HEALTHCARE .
Many people of working age being too ill to work,
Which leads to poverty. Huge spending on controlling these diseases.
HIGH POPULATION GROWTH.
Large number of people with too few resources too few jobs and not
Enough food or basic causes of poverty.
Over population leads to the deterioration of the
Natural environment, including water sources, soil and forest.
CORRUPTION.
When government leaders do not make efficient service provision a
Priority, this adds to the poverty level.
In poor countries there is often a history of poor governance.
WELFARE.
THE poorest group earns only 6%of income.
In 2005 the curve had moved to the right
Showing that the income gap has become greater.

THE NUMBER OF SOCIAL GRANT BENEFICIARIES HAS
INCREASED DRASTICALLY. MOST PEOPLE HAVE ACCESS TO ELECTRICITY.
CONCLUSION
THE SOUTH AFRICAN GOVERNMENT HAS TRIED TO REDUCE
POVERTY ALTHOUGH A LOT MORE STILL NEEDS TO BE DONE.
