Bill Thwing - Hinter Lands Lyrics

Lyrics Hinter Lands - Bill Thwing

The Hinterland is way out there
It's different in each tongue
Some call it the boonies
Where hicks and duds come from
In Canada, the hinterland
Could be the Great White North
The wilderness or wild free lands
Where Polar Bear and Orcas roam
In old Quebec"La Patri" is a sacred word
Connecting us to our past
The place our ancestors come from
The land where we belong, at last
Now, for myself, it's outer space
Where stars are born and die
Where time unfolds like a Chinese fan
And light fills dark empty skies
Our Earth is just a tiny part
A Garden now despoiled
Where greedy men run amuck
Trashing the land and all our soils
Where life bursts forth naturally
And hope was once the rule
Those hinterlands are valuable
And must be rendered safe
Mankind must learn to curb itself
As they run our race
We're all in this together
And we must find a way
To treat our hinterlands with love
And trust and grace
The hinter lands are way out there
Different in each tongue
A paradise that waits for us
Trusting, Hoping, Praying, Believing
That we will come some day
