I made a sandcastle to sleep on
Poured buckets of water in the moat
I see faces surround me, they laugh and point
I'm safe behind these walls

My drawbridge never comes down
Only penetrated by the sun
And all the seagulls and crabs keep me company
Won't judge me, never hurt me

When ocean waves come crashing down
I'm left with piles of mud
I take my bucket and shovel
Down the beach, I move horizontal

I build all alone
I want nobodies help but my own
Biting my tongue, I work til I'm covered
By my castle where I slumber

And I'm still here I'm learning how
To let go of the thought
That I'm better off alone in my fortress
