Gregorian - Molly Ban Lyrics

Lyrics Molly Ban - Gregorian

Come all ye fellas
That shoot with the gun
Beware of the shooting
By the setting of the sun
Listen carefully to my story
That has happened of late
To young Molly Ban
Whose youth it was slayed
She's been coming from my uncle
When a shower parted on
She went under a green bush
The shower to shun
Her white apron around her
That why took her for a swan
But it was his misfortune
Shot his own Molly Ban
He quickly ran to her
And found that she was dead
And there she was finished
For he shoot tears he shed
He ran to his father
With his gun still in his hand
Saying "Father,dear father"
"I have shot my Molly Ban"
And I shot her dear Molly
At the setting of the Sun
But the hush and a sigh
Mighty secret as a snow
He roamed near the place
Where his true love was slain
He wept bitter tears
But his cries were in vain
As he looked on the lake
A swan glided by
And the sun slowly sank
In the graying sky
