From all of eternity, God made a pactum
A covenant agreement to make the Son a ransom
To die in the place of the dead
And to rise from death to raise alive all of the elect
Two points, death and resurrection
Promises proclaimed beforehand about the one who has descended
As the seed of Eve, of Abraham and David
To be proclaimed as the Son of God raised from the grave His
Loving grace and benefits communicated
Through signs and types in the OT administration
From Adam to Abraham, from Moses to David
The Gospel was preached and proclaimed they were blessed and elated
And so now the thesis
The Gospel's not new to apostles 'cause Jesus
Was present to bless His Old Covenant saints
One Church, one Covenant of Grace, this is great!

Laid before Abraham we see his son Isaac
Strapped to an altar to be sacrificed this
Act of faith indeed this may surprise us
Why did God tell him to murder and kill his prized gift?
His only son to whom belonged the promise
Abraham considered that God could raise from death
His offspring indeed he did although we speak figuratively
It points us to a precious promise!
The death and resurrection of Christ
Communicated to this Old Covenant
Saint through signs, shadows and types
And the Apostle Paul speaks to us in Galatians
He was blessed by this Gospel and all
The nations indeed would be blessed too
And through him the seed of the
Woman would rescue Jews and Gentiles too
That's why I'm so hype to know that it's all Christ
Who saves and preserves his whole church by his whole might

We read in Hebrews 6, to indeed convince
The heirs of the promise of God that Jesus is
Our steadfast anchor and hope of assurance
That Christ the high priest intercedes for us
He swore an oath by Himself to secure us
With no other name to swear by—this should floor us!
And He first made this clear to Abraham
In the shadow of a risen son and a slain ram
And before Abraham in Genesis 22
Stands the Son of God to swear by himself
That through Him he will bless dudes
Peep the Administrator, of the Covenant of Grace is our blessed Savior
And most efficaciously and spiritually
Christ communicates His benefits most visibly
Once in types and signs now in the bread and wine
Jesus, He feeds our faith by His love divine!
