Followed by coup after coup and very little more
In 1993, it got real to me
I truly had visions of a new democracy
When MKO won what was hailed a fair election
The Naira strengthened
The tension lessened
The military government felt threatened
And placed Abiola in detention
Pay attention
The world watched with no intervention
