Kate Nash - Lullaby for an Insomniac (Commentary) paroles de chanson

paroles de chanson Lullaby for an Insomniac (Commentary) - Kate Nash

And finally, uh the last track on the album is, "Lullaby for an Insomniac"
And I wrote this, again, to my insomniac phase
Still go through that sometimes but this was like a really bad patch
And uhm, I was awake at like four in the morning
And I remember like thinking
I′ve got this melody in my head but I can't be bothered to record it
And I was like, "Oh my God, I can′t believe I just said that when my iPhone is literally there
And all I have to do is lean over and hit the record button on the voice memo"
So I did it and then I pieced together a couple of melodies and recorded the whole thing
Just like that on my phone and then, uhm
And then I had this idea that I wanted it to go from extreme Lo-Fi to extreme Hi-Fi
And so we recorded it again, just-
We still had my voice memo playing through really, really low
And at Tom Biller's house uhm, recorded it onto tape
It's a tape recorder, uhm
And a cassette tape recorder
And then um, and then I had this idea for a huge-
I wanted the record to end like the "Gone with the Wind" theme
The theme from "Gone with the Wind"
And I wanted people to be listening to this record and
In the middle of the night and finish it at four in the morning
And then you get to that lullaby and it-
I wanted it to comfort people and the music to feel very like anxious and nerve-racking
And like, "Oh, what′s gonna happen?" like "Oh no, I′m scared it's not gonna resolve"
And then suddenly it′s this like, this arpeggios and the scale and
And it becomes this really beautiful thing
And that to me like represents like the morning and waking up
And getting through that sort of horrible like anxiety attack that you have at like four in the morning
And you wake up and it's the next day
And I remember my mum was being like, you know, "Things are always better in the morning"
And it′s so true 'cause you can panic so much in the dark for some reason
And then, and then you wake up and you′ve got through that and you've faced the day
And you can actually start dealing with your problems so
That's how I want people to feel when they listen to my record is that
Uhm, it is gonna be okay and things will be better in the morning
So just get through tonight and uhm
And then deal with tomorrow
And that′s the end
