Al-Balad

بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

لَا أُقْسِمُ بِهَـٰذَا الْبَلَدِ ﴿١﴾
وَأَنتَ حِلٌّ بِهَـٰذَا الْبَلَدِ ﴿٢﴾
وَوَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ ﴿٣﴾
لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ فِي كَبَدٍ ﴿٤﴾
أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّن يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌ ﴿٥﴾
يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًا لُّبَدًا ﴿٦﴾
أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّمْ يَرَهُ أَحَدٌ ﴿٧﴾
أَلَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُ عَيْنَيْنِ ﴿٨﴾
وَلِسَانًا وَشَفَتَيْنِ ﴿٩﴾
وَهَدَيْنَاهُ النَّجْدَيْنِ ﴿١٠﴾
فَلَا اقْتَحَمَ الْعَقَبَةَ ﴿١١﴾
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْعَقَبَةُ﴿١٢﴾
فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ ﴿١٣﴾
أَوْ إِطْعَامٌ فِي يَوْمٍ ذِي مَسْغَبَةٍ ﴿١٤﴾
يَتِيمًا ذَا مَقْرَبَةٍ ﴿١٥﴾
أَوْ مِسْكِينًا ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍ ﴿١٦﴾
ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْمَرْحَمَةِ ﴿١٧﴾
أُولَـٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ ﴿١٨﴾
وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِنَا هُمْ أَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ ﴿١٩﴾
عَلَيْهِمْ نَارٌ مُّؤْصَدَةٌ ﴿٢٠﴾

The City

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

I do not swear by this city (Makkah) ﴿1﴾
And you are a dweller in this city (Makkah) ﴿2﴾
And by the begetter and that which is begotten ﴿3﴾
Verily, We created man in toil ﴿4﴾
Does he think that none has power over him? ﴿5﴾
He says: "I have wasted away abundant wealth." ﴿6﴾
Does he think that none sees him? ﴿7﴾
Have We not made for him a pair of eyes? ﴿8﴾
And a tongue and two lips? ﴿9﴾
And shown him the two ways? ﴿10﴾
But he has not attempted the path of the slope ﴿11﴾
And what will make you know the path of the slope? ﴿12﴾
(It is) freeing a slave ﴿13﴾
Or feeding on a day of severe hunger ﴿14﴾
An orphan of near relationship ﴿15﴾
Or a needy person in misery ﴿16﴾
Then he was of those who believed and enjoined one another to patience, and enjoined one another to kindness ﴿17﴾
They are those on the right hand ﴿18﴾
And those who disbelieved in Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) they are those on the left hand ﴿19﴾
Upon them is Fire vaulted ﴿20﴾
