Al-Qamar

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ
وَإِن يَرَوْا آيَةً يُعْرِضُوا وَيَقُولُوا سِحْرٌ مُّسْتَمِرٌّ
وَكَذَّبُوا وَاتَّبَعُوا أَهْوَاءهُمْ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍ مُّسْتَقِرٌّ
وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُم مِّنَ الأَنبَاء مَا فِيهِ مُزْدَجَرٌ
حِكْمَةٌ بَالِغَةٌ فَمَا تُغْنِ النُّذُرُ
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ الدَّاعِ إِلَى شَيْءٍ نُّكُرٍ
خُشَّعًا أَبْصَارُهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الأَجْدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌ مُّنتَشِرٌ
مُّهْطِعِينَ إِلَى الدَّاعِ يَقُولُ الْكَافِرُونَ هَذَا يَوْمٌ عَسِرٌ
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ فَكَذَّبُوا عَبْدَنَا وَقَالُوا مَجْنُونٌ وَازْدُجِرَ
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَغْلُوبٌ فَانتَصِرْ
فَفَتَحْنَا أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاء بِمَاء مُّنْهَمِرٍ
وَفَجَّرْنَا الأَرْضَ عُيُونًا فَالْتَقَى الْمَاء عَلَى أَمْرٍ قَدْ قُدِرَ
وَحَمَلْنَاهُ عَلَى ذَاتِ أَلْوَاحٍ وَدُسُرٍ
تَجْرِي بِأَعْيُنِنَا جَزَاء لِّمَن كَانَ كُفِرَ
وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَاهَا آيَةً فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا فِي يَوْمِ نَحْسٍ مُّسْتَمِرٍّ
تَنزِعُ النَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ مُّنقَعِرٍ
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِالنُّذُرِ
فَقَالُوا أَبَشَرًا مِّنَّا وَاحِدًا نَّتَّبِعُهُ إِنَّا إِذًا لَّفِي ضَلالٍ وَسُعُرٍ
أَؤُلْقِيَ الذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِن بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌ
سَيَعْلَمُونَ غَدًا مَّنِ الْكَذَّابُ الأَشِرُ
إِنَّا مُرْسِلُوا النَّاقَةِ فِتْنَةً لَّهُمْ فَارْتَقِبْهُمْ وَاصْطَبِرْ
وَنَبِّئْهُمْ أَنَّ الْمَاء قِسْمَةٌ بَيْنَهُمْ كُلُّ شِرْبٍ مُّحْتَضَرٌ
فَنَادَوْا صَاحِبَهُمْ فَتَعَاطَى فَعَقَرَ
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَكَانُوا كَهَشِيمِ الْمُحْتَظِرِ
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ بِالنُّذُرِ
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا إِلاَّ آلَ لُوطٍ نَّجَّيْنَاهُم بِسَحَرٍ
نِعْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِنَا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي مَن شَكَرَ
وَلَقَدْ أَنذَرَهُم بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا بِالنُّذُرِ
وَلَقَدْ رَاوَدُوهُ عَن ضَيْفِهِ فَطَمَسْنَا أَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
وَلَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُم بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌ مُّسْتَقِرٌّ
فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
وَلَقَدْ جَاءَ آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ النُّذُرُ
كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ أَخْذَ عَزِيزٍ مُّقْتَدِرٍ
أَكُفَّارُكُمْ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أُوْلَئِكُمْ أَمْ لَكُم بَرَاءَةٌ فِي الزُّبُرِ
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ جَمِيعٌ مُّنتَصِرٌ
سَيُهْزَمُ الْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ الدُّبُرَ
بَلِ السَّاعَةُ مَوْعِدُهُمْ وَالسَّاعَةُ أَدْهَى وَأَمَرُّ
إِنَّ الْمُجْرِمِينَ فِي ضَلالٍ وَسُعُرٍ
يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ
إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ
وَمَا أَمْرُنَا إِلاَّ وَاحِدَةٌ كَلَمْحٍ بِالْبَصَرِ
وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا أَشْيَاعَكُمْ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ
وَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ فَعَلُوهُ فِي الزُّبُرِ
وَكُلُّ صَغِيرٍ وَكَبِيرٍ مُسْتَطَرٌ
إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَهَرٍ
فِي مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكٍ مُّقْتَدِرٍ

Al-Qamar

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The Hour (of Judgment) is nigh, and the moon is cleft asunder.
But if they see a Sign, they turn away, and say, "This is (but) transient magic."
And they rejected (the truth) and followed their own lusts, but every matter will be settled (according to the kind of deed).
And verily, there has come to them of news (in this Qur'an) wherein is (full of) deterrents (from evil).
Perfect wisdom (this Qur'an), but warnings avail not.
So turn (O Muhammad SAW) away from them (i.e. disbelievers) on the Day when the Caller (calling to Hell) shall call (them) to a thing dreadful.
Their eyes cast down, they will come forth from the graves as if they were locusts spread abroad.
Hastening towards the Caller (i.e. to Hell), the disbelievers will say, "This is a hard Day."
Before them the people of Nuh (Noah) rejected (their Messenger). They rejected Our Slave (Nuh SAW), and said: "He is a madman!" And he was repulsed.
Then he invoked his Lord (saying): "I have been overcome, so help (me)!"
So We opened the gates of heaven with water pouring forth.
And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs. So the waters (of the heaven and the earth) met for a matter predestined.
And We carried him on a (ship) made of planks and nails,
Floating under Our Eyes, a reward for him who had been rejected!
And We have left this as a Sign (behind us). Then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?
Then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?
And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?
Aad (people) rejected (the warnings). Then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?
Verily, We sent against them a furious wind, on a day of unrelenting misery;
Plucking out men as if they were uprooted stems of date-palms.
Then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?
And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?
Thamud (people) rejected the warnings.
For they said: "Is it a human being among us, a single (one) whom we are to follow? Verily, we then should be in error and madness.
Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us? Nay, he is a liar, an insolent (person)!"
They will come to know tomorrow who is a liar, an insolent (person)!
Verily, We are going to send the she-camel as a trial for them. So watch them (O Muhammad SAW), and be patient!
And inform them that the water is to be divided between them (and the she-camel). Each one's right to drink being established (by turns).
But they called their companion, and he took (a sword) and hamstrung (her).
Then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?
Verily, We sent against them a single Saihah (torment - awful cry, (thunder, etc.)), and they became like the dry stubble used by one who pens (for his animals).
And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?
The people of Lout (Lot) (those dwelling in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) rejected the warnings.
Verily, We sent against them a violent tornado of stones (which killed them all), except the family of Lout (Lot), them We saved in the darkness of the night,
As a Grace from Us. Thus We reward he who gives thanks (by obeying Us).
And verily, he (Lout SAW) warned them of Our Grasp, but they did doubt the warnings!
And verily, they (the wicked) sought to deprive him of his guests (the angels), but We blinded their eyes. So taste you My Torment and My Warnings.
And verily, there befell them a persistent torment in the morning;
So taste you My Torment and My Warnings.
And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?
And verily, warnings came to the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh).
They belied Our Signs, all (of them), so We seized them with a seizing of the All-Mighty, the All-Powerful.
Are your disbelievers (O Quraish) better than these (disbelievers of the old)? Or is there for you an immunity in the Scriptures?
Or do they say: "We are a multitude, we shall be victorious?"
The multitude will be defeated and they shall turn (their backs) in flight.
Nay, the Hour is their appointed time, and the Hour is more grievous and more bitter.
Verily, the Mujrimun (criminals, sinners, disbelievers, etc.) are in error and madness.
On the Day they will be dragged (in the Fire) on their faces, (it will be said to them): "Taste you the touch of Saqar (Hell-fire)!"
Verily, We have created all things with Qadar (Divine Preordainments of all things before their creation as written in the Book of Decrees Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz).
And Our Commandment is but one, as the twinkling of an eye.
And We have indeed destroyed your likes, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?
And all their deeds are (recorded) in (their) Books (of deeds).
And every small and great (matter) is recorded.
Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the Gardens (Paradise), and (by) a spring.
On thrones of dignity, in the Presence of an All-Powerful King (Allah).
