سینه ی فراخ سوختر آید سِتبر
از جور خَلق، ذهن بزاید مَجوس
در حول و حوش حادثه فاجعه زایدت گبر
صد خنده شوق ناکُندَت سخت شاد
صد آسمانت گریه نبارد ز ابر
آن درد عشق، کز تو برون کرده یار
آن یار رفته از سفر آیدت، صبر
شَنگی و خوشدلی نرُباید تو را
از فرط اختیارت، نمایند جبر

My love, distance and misery have made a tiger of me
My broad chest has become narrow and stiff
From the cruelty of the people, my mind has given birth to a Zoroastrian
In the midst of this tragedy, a Zoroastrian has been born
A hundred happy laughs will not make you truly happy
A hundred skies will not rain on you from the clouds
That pain of love, which my beloved has taken away from me
That beloved who has gone away on a journey will come to you, my patience
Mirth and cheerfulness will not be taken away from you
Because of your excessive control, they will appear as force
