My city so contaminated by this hatred, it's crazy

When you see mothers bury children cause they died from a bullet
This shit is only getting worse & yo the proof in the pudding
I tried to stay inside the house but evidently I couldn't
I put my trust in everybody when I knew that I shouldn't

I feel like everyone I know is always tryna do me wrong
How can you trust somebody else when you can't even trust your own?
& all this pain inside my soul is getting hard for me to hold
I swear I hold too many grudges & it's time to let it go

Cause when you tryna make it out, they wanna say that you fake
These streets will never love you back, but they don't get it, it's sad
They losing fathers to the streets & now the mothers is dads
This shit is different, when you missing, something that you should have
I'm steady wishing, that the system, gave the people a chance
& I was loyal to the people who was stabbing my back
So now my heart ain't got the love it used to have in the past
