I rap from the perspective of two different characters
I played in two different shows

I play a character in a musical and a drama.
I practice and memorize lines that don't end in a saga
I know that I don't always get the part that I wanna
But the audience after the show
Will decide who's gon be the next genre

I want to be on Broadway, you will see me there
I just got a role, I better act and treat it with care
What the cast does on stage will get the crowd to stop and stare

Cause that's what they do and I cannot prevent it from happening

This is the debut of my experience in acting.
It is not the best, but i can tell that it isn't lacking
We did what was directed, and made the best of it
So that we would get ideas of a show that will be next to it

I was talking about my involvement in the musical
West Side Story in that verse
But the song is not over yet.
I was involved in a drama show too called the Matchmaker.
So let me change things up a little bit.

I'm Malachi Stack. I work for Horace Vandergelder
The city of New York is where the bar is my shelter
I gave him my letters as I walked in
I told him who I was and took the cases after talking

Switching places, went to a restaurant
The table is where Horace orders what he is going to want
He wants wine and chicken. I told him he'll regret it
But he didn't listen. He didn't take my credit
He must be mad at me for something. I have never read it.

Brought the cabman with me. She asked who is my friend.
I told her he's an employer. My job will extend
No breaks in between, taking messages he sends
So I don't get discharged for things that I fucking bend

I was a thief but now I drink. Getting rid my past addictions
I tell you not to support a weakness or two. That's my restriction.
If you support two of them you may face your own consequences
I'm getting rid of the purse I found to make him feel relentless

I met Cornelius and Barnaby on the other side of the screen
Gave them the purse. Left the restaurant while the scene
Goes on and that they all do their thing
I said my words. You should be able to figure out what I mean

The final floor is where I report. I meet Mrs. Van Heusen
Vandergelder wrote a letter that I give her. No confusion
Then I was sent to the hall with the Cabman
Until he knocks on the door and goes through and we meet the man

We walked back out there. To him I say hello
She requested him to give her something.
He was like, "Hell no."
And we got discharged. We don't know what we did.
But I'm glad it happened now, we would've been rigged

That could be a trick that caused him to fire me
If I was on the job more he would've admired me
Nothing I can do about it because it's too late.
And because of that,
I picture a word in my head that says "Great!"

Barnaby says that the show is an adventure
Now I'm going to gather with everyone in the center
Barnaby said goodnight to you like it was no pressure
I would say that we did good, but it's even better

That's where I'm going to end my story
Hope it wasn't boring.
We deserve a little glory.
Cause that's what the cast members have told me
