I wasn't certain of anything then
I didn't know who I was just yet
Still a tiny light shone inside
It would lead me to what I had to find
I had to learn to be alone
I'd been told that so many times
I had to learn that lesson myself
I couldn't turn to anyone else

I was searching for what I'd done wrong

I think with us the timing was off
I wasn't ready to give of myself
And you couldn't be consistent at all
We were two people with good intent
But our execution was painfully bad
And I know we loved the best we could
We tried to make it all ok
We tried to make it all go away
