Hope For The Hopeless

We open our eyes as we fuel this final flight
A cold and darkened journey to the moon
We say our goodbyes then we reach for the highest height
A billion heartbeats skipping as we turn and burn a thousand pieces
Falling far behind the recess of every afternoon
We knew it would but how'd it come so soon?

We made up our minds
We would reach for heaven tonight
A lost and pointless effort some would muse
We gave up our lives to the chance of saving life
A million reasons, a thousand protests
And no real answers to these questions
If all is one and everything is nothing and everyone's confused
Sometimes we wonder if it's any use
