Some careless friend just chanced to say

Then I remem-bered your arms and how they held me dear
But the memory only brought me that same old empty fear
Now I'm right back where I started that awful day we parted
And all because they men-tioned your name

I told myself the hurt was gone
That not one memory lingered on
