This true story begins with 2 best friends
Who came up together and would ride to the end
Ran the streets hooligans but they were passive
Time passed got married and they had kids
One of them had 2, myself and my brother
The other had a son and named him Lloyd Antwi aka Kojo the only son to his mother
From the beginning, he ain't never really had anything with ease
Age 2 diagnosed with sickle cell disease
And that means, Kojo suffered episodes of pain man he was always sick
And the doctors ain't think he'd make it till 6 but he did
And Kojo health improved drastically
Unfortunately his dad passed dramatically
And naturally what shock!
In retrospect his moms was lost
I always loved that lady
And my pops would do anything to help
That's the reason that he felt that the vacas @ our crib caused improvement in health
Who knows?
All I know is
Only time me & my bro would quit fighting was when Kojo came through

Goofing off all day it was shameful
Reflecting on those days from the present almost painful
If that ain't true!
But as time passed, life moved us towards different paths
My fam moved to Canada in fact
And my passed life including Kojo got detached
Kinda sad
But you know life here dawg...
It goes job, school
Top crew
Cop due
Just to lob you
And strive for being the goat, I ain't tryna boast
But we doing the most just to avoid a roast
What I know
Back home they was tryna stay afloat
At first things looked up cuz Kojo's mom got remarried again but then
Do not weep
But he died in his sleep

What a shame
All that pain
That probably remains
She had enough of earth no longer wanna stay
Suicide there ain't no other way

But Kojo was a symbol of hope
So we lived by a similar code
2013 back home feeling remote
And saw Kojo only wished I remember the quotes (only wish)

You know when you and your friends have been ghost
But that's when the bond is phenomenal most
I remember right there on the Porch
And we talked
For what seemed like hours
Thinking maybe one day that the world could be ours
Jokingly we gotta stop acting like cowards

And I saw his moms too
I always loved that lady

Then all of a sudden (shush) lights off
Back in Ghana it ain't surprising at all
But fast forward
Return to Canada
I'm in uni
Had to distance myself from those that knew me

It was just to focus on the things I'm pursuing
One day in November I got a call and it confused me
Kojo has been hospitalized and this time it wasn't too bad
But shit guess I might've been assuming

Midterm season ain't wanna be bothered
