And I think I was so wrapped up that I just kinda glossed over the line

In my mind I remember thinking it didn't make sense completely
And then you nail me with the chorus
And my mind was blown and I was sad and didn't see that one coming (yeah)

That's like one of those things like every time I play it for someone new
After the chorus I just like, you stick a fake dagger in my heart
Because it's like when you watch a movie and your two favorite characters die in the end (yes)
It's like the movie was great, but I really
I hated the ending, uh
And it's one of those things, you know

This song a lot of people have asked like
You know, how do you feel like?
Why did you put a song like this on your record?
And uhm, 'cause it's really it's like my what if song
It's like, there was a moment in time there, when me and Lauren were just friends
And it could have stayed that way if I had never gone and said anything to her
And kind of let her know how I've felt about her for a while and so

This is my encouragement to other people out there
That if you have something on your heart to say to somebody
You should probably say it because

Kind of reminds me of that saying

It's an amazing song, I do love it even now, knowing what I know

Ich bin Becca, wir sprechen mit Thomas, und nun gut.
Dieser nächste Song, ich war so gefesselt von dem wunderschönen Bild, das du mit "Marry Me" gemalt hast.
Und ich liebte den Text, und ich dachte:
Oh, es ist Laurens Geschichte, und sie ist so wunderschön.
Und ich glaube, ich war so gefesselt, dass ich die Zeile einfach überflogen habe:
Dass ich mich hinten verstecken werde (ja).
Ich erinnere mich, dass ich dachte, es ergab nicht ganz Sinn.
Und dann hast du mich mit dem Refrain umgehauen.
Und ich war fassungslos und traurig, und das habe ich nicht kommen sehen (ja).

Das ist so eine Sache, jedes Mal, wenn ich es jemand Neuem vorspiele.
Nach dem Refrain ist es, als würdest du mir einen falschen Dolch ins Herz stoßen.
Weil es ist, wie wenn man einen Film sieht und die beiden Lieblingscharaktere am Ende sterben (ja).
Es ist, als ob der Film großartig war, aber ich wirklich
Ich hasste das Ende, ähm.
Und es ist eines dieser Dinge, weißt du.

Bei diesem Song haben viele Leute gefragt:
Weißt du, wie fühlst du dich?
Warum hast du so einen Song auf deine Platte gepackt?
Und ähm, weil es wirklich mein "Was wäre wenn"-Song ist.
Es ist wie, es gab einen Moment, da waren Lauren und ich nur Freunde.
Und es hätte so bleiben können, wenn ich ihr nie etwas gesagt hätte.
Und sie irgendwie wissen lassen hätte, was ich schon eine Weile für sie empfinde, und so.

Das ist meine Ermutigung an andere Leute da draußen.
Wenn ihr etwas auf dem Herzen habt, das ihr jemandem sagen wollt,
Solltet ihr es wahrscheinlich sagen, denn
Dein Leben könnte definitiv eine Wendung nehmen, und ähm
Ich hatte das Gefühl, mein Leben wäre so gewesen, wenn ich nie etwas gesagt hätte.

Das erinnert mich irgendwie an das Sprichwort:
Ich bereue lieber, was ich gesagt habe, als was ich nicht gesagt habe (ja, genau).
Wow (ja), nun, ich möchte alle warnen.
Bevor ihr euch völlig in die Liebe und Schönheit der ersten Strophe von "Marry Me" verliert,
Hört es euch ganz an.
Es ist ein erstaunlicher Song, ich liebe ihn auch jetzt noch, da ich weiß, was ich weiß.
Aber es wird dich umhauen, wenn du nicht bereit bist (ja, absolut).
