Текст песни Smooth Like the Summer (Commentary) - Thomas Rhett

Have you downloaded Thomas Rhett's new album "Life Changes" yet?
Well, I know by the time we finish this special
You're gonna wanna have it, so go ahead and download it now while you listen
To the "Life Changes" album release special, I am Becca on Big Machine Radio
We've got Thomas Rhett here talking about all the songs on the album, and
It's interesting, the next song "Smooth Like the Summer"
To me, it's almost like the juxtaposition of "Sixteen" (yeah)
Because in "Sixteen" you're wishing your life away
And wishing you were at another point in your life (yeah)
And in this one "Smooth Like The Summer" you're just reveling in the moment that you're in
And loving where you're at
Totally and you know I think that this song it's just kinda, it's sort of like
Describes me as like a 14 to 18-year-old mindset like where I kind of had this like rebellious
I wasn't a bad kid but I always wanted to be doing stuff
That other people did not think was cool at that time
So like if no one was skateboarding, I wanted to try to get everybody into skateboarding
If no one likes punk rock music, I want to start a punk rock band and this song is basically like
The motto of "long hair, don't care"
Like these are my group of, of misfit kids, and in this is how we live
And uh, if you wanna come hang with us, cool
If you don't, it's fine
And it's just kinda just one of the songs that
To me is like just the perfect song to like
Be on a boat on, and just like cruise down and just have this song blasting, and uh
This is just one of the songs that I think just feels good, it doesn't
Lyrics aren't gonna change your life
The melodies are great but I think it's just one of those things where if you put the song on
In any situation, I think it could sit there
And kind of just fit the mood of a lot of situations
Well it's called "Smooth Like the Summer" and you'll find it on "Life Changes"
