This is just kinda the quintessential, good girl falls for the bad boys, song (totally, yeah)

Uh, so tell me about the inspiration
I-I don't know that it's necessarily your story (mm-hm) so where did this come from?

This is uh, one of the few songs that I wrote out in Malibu with a bunch of L.A. writers
Who, when you get into a room like that
You never know if you're going to write something for Wiz Khalifa
Or you're gonna write a traditional country song
You just never know what you're gonna write (right)

And we were in there and my buddy John Ryan
Uh, who's a fantastic songwriter was just playing these, like, big loud power chord
Like, Tom Petty chords, if you will
And we just started, like, you know
Singing that like super singalong choruses in the song and
The line that I love the most is uhm, "Small town cliche bit like you and me"

And so like you're telling the story of these two young lovers who
The dad hates the guy; cliche story, but really you're talking about yourselves
Uh, you're older now, but you get to look at your kids and be like
"I really don't want you to go, but you should go" uh, kinda thing (yeah)

In an age of love that just like kinda renegade, reckless, wild being young love story
Uh. that-that, just feels like a stadium rock song if you will

Et on était là-dedans, et mon pote John Ryan
Euh, qui est un fantastique auteur-compositeur, jouait juste ces gros accords puissants
Genre des accords de Tom Petty, si tu veux
Et on a juste commencé, tu sais
À chanter ce refrain super mélodique dans la chanson, et
La phrase que j'aime le plus, c'est euh, "Small town cliche bit like you and me"

Et donc tu racontes l'histoire de ces deux jeunes amoureux qui
Le père déteste le garçon ; histoire clichée, mais en réalité tu parles de vous-mêmes
Euh, vous êtes plus âgés maintenant, mais vous pouvez regarder vos enfants et dire
"Je ne veux vraiment pas que tu partes, mais tu devrais partir" euh, genre de chose (ouais)

Dans une ère d'amour qui est juste un peu comme un renégat, imprudent, sauvage, être jeune histoire d'amour
Euh, ça-ça, ressemble juste à une chanson de rock de stade, si tu veux
