I started playing golf when I was eleven years old
One pure shot lit a fire in my soul
I had new clubs, the lessons, a world-class team
Countless hours chasing down a dream
But no matter the trophies, no matter the score
I was waiting on a moment that never came before
On paper it looked like I should've arrived
But I was chasing success I could never define
They called me calm, said I carried no stress
But inside the fight had me second-guess
Every lead felt heavy, every win unclear
I didn't know how to hold success only how to chase the fear
Now I choose to play good, I choose to be free
I'm building a vision that's bigger than me
No more waiting, no more doubt
I know what this life's about
From the shadows to the light I stood
I choose to play good
Over four long years the game took a back seat
Work and family life pulled me off my feet
Played once a month, still chased that speed
But fulfilment's not found in the things you achieve
So I studied myself, the patterns inside
Saw how golf and life were the same in disguise
And a friend once told me, with a voice so true
"I'm sick of playing bad golf, I'm choosing good too."
That line hit deep, it set me straight
It ain't fear, it ain't luck, it's the choice you make
So I'm done with waiting, done with "maybe someday,"
I'm stepping up now, I'm choosing my way
I choose to play good, I choose to be free
I'm building a vision that's bigger than me
No more waiting, no more doubt
I know what this life's about
From the shadows to the light I stood
I choose to play good
From the shadows to the light I stood
I choose to play good
