And I can play you just as many crap records as there were great records

And you've gotta have, you've gotta have some records that aren't great
To give the ones that are really special the reason
To go sit above the, you know, the rest
And that's the way it's supposed to be

So I'm not one of those guys that it's only good
If it is this or that, I don't, I don't subscribe to that
I'm happy for these guys that are living their dreams
That play, and they're doing what speaks to them and
It's okay, if you know, it ain't my cup of tea
I probably wasn't a lot of people's cup of tea either
You know, and a few generations before me
That's not, that's not so much of an issue

At the end of the day
What I, what I love seeing is
Country music representated in a way
That makes it look great
That's all I ever wanted to see was
Somebody be great
If you're gonna take my spot
Okay, I had a nice little run
Had a bunch of hits, da-da-da
If gotta take my spot, you better be better than me
You better be great, you know
That's the way it should work, but it doesn't
And that's okay, too

Et il faut, il faut avoir des disques qui ne sont pas géniaux
Pour donner aux disques vraiment spéciaux la raison
D'aller s'asseoir au-dessus des, tu sais, des autres
Et c'est comme ça que ça devrait être

Donc je ne suis pas un de ces gars pour qui c'est bien
Si c'est ça ou ça, je ne, je ne souscris pas à ça
Je suis content pour ces gars qui vivent leurs rêves
Qui jouent, et qui font ce qui leur parle et
C'est bon, si tu sais, ça ne me plaît pas
J'étais probablement pas non plus le genre de musique que beaucoup de gens appréciaient
Tu sais, et quelques générations avant moi
Ce n'est pas, ce n'est pas vraiment un problème

Au final
Ce que, ce que j'aime voir c'est
La musique country représentée d'une manière
Qui la fait paraître formidable
Tout ce que j'ai toujours voulu voir c'était
Quelqu'un qui soit formidable
Si tu dois prendre ma place
Ok, j'ai eu une belle petite carrière
J'ai eu un tas de succès, da-da-da
Si tu dois prendre ma place, tu ferais mieux d'être meilleur que moi

C'est comme ça que ça devrait fonctionner, mais ce n'est pas le cas
Et c'est bon aussi
