Lyrics Another Train - David Prince
It
was
way
back
in
Peoria
when
I
first
got
on
this
train
And
my
first
stop
was
in
Pekin,
Illinois
All
that
I
remember
was
the
time
I
spent
with
grandpa
To
him,
I
was
a
special
little
boy
The
next
stop
was
Decatur,
where
I
learned
′bout
black
and
white
I
learned
some
things
are
easy
- some
things
hard
When
the
train
rolled
into
Downers
Grove,
I
met
my
younger
brothers
We
terrorized
the
neighbors
and
caught
frogs
in
our
backyard
And
everywhere
I've
gone
I
thought
I′d
found
the
end
of
the
line
Here's
the
place
that
I
was
destined
to
remain
But
eventually
it
seemed
that
I,
or
someone
else,
would
change
our
mind
We'd
pack
our
stuff
and
board
another
train
Took
the
big
express
to
Texas,
where
I
thought
I′d
surely
stay
Learned
to
love
the
Dallas
Cowboys
Got
a
guitar
- learned
to
play
There
I
had
my
first
real
heartbreak
And
I
made
a
life-long
friend
But
then
we
headed
back
to
Illinois
and
I
did
that
stuff
again.
In
Idaho,
I
gained
a
wife
and
sons,
but
lost
my
father
Finished
up
my
education,
started
up
another
plan
I
hung
around
there
long
enough
to
see
what
we
were
missing
So
I
gathered
up
my
family
and
we
hit
the
rails
again
And
everywhere
we
went,
I
thought
it
was
the
end
of
the
line
Here′s
the
place
that
we
were
destined
to
remain
But
eventually
it
seemed
that
I,
or
someone
else,
would
change
our
mind
We'd
pack
our
stuff
and
board
another
train
Now
I′m
here
in
California,
where
I've
stayed
a
long,
long
time
Bought
a
house
and
planted
roots
and
thought
that
everything
was
fine
Watched
my
sons
grow
up
and
marry,
move
away
and
settle
down
Suddenly
we′re
on
a
train
again
And
God
knows
where
we're
bound
But
everywhere
we′ve
been,
I
thought
it
was
the
end
of
the
line
Here's
the
place
that
we
were
destined
to
remain
But
eventually
it
seemed
that
I,
or
someone
else,
would
change
our
mind
We'd
pack
our
stuff
and
board
another
train
