Thayige magane jiva aa maganige thayea daiva
For the mother her son is life, for the son the mother is God

Illi tyaga preetiya karulina banda nodu,
Sacrifice and unconditional love, see the mother son bondage ('karulu' meaning umblical chord)

Jagada baari sagarava jigidu eeji meerisuva prabara dairya neediruva shivane
Verily Shiva has given the immense courage to swim past the vast ocean of this jagath/samsara

Shiva watches our actions from above

Gives the true marks we deserve, who is all knowing
