Lyrics The Ringmaster - Vold Book
The
Ringmaster
raises
his
plastic
Baton,
and
all
things
go
his
way
The
show
has
been
thoroughly
Rehearsed;
the
audience
pays
up
Enjoys,
and
files
home
Late
at
night,
while
resting
in
his
cage
The
troubadour
hatched
a
plan
To
step
onto
the
world's
stage
To
take
a
trek
with
Bear,
to
The
forest
and
the
mountains
To
dabble
in
his
tunes,
near
The
waters
of
a
fountain
The
show
went
on,
the
very
Next
day,
but
Bear
had
fallen
ill
The
troubadour
said,
"Not
to
worry
We'll
carry
out
the
plan
still."
And
so
they
did
and
made
their
way
Past
the
boxes
and
the
hay;
but
a
Porter
saw
them
wanderin'
there,
and
Called
the
ringmaster,
who
was
unaware
He
snatched
the
troubadour
But
the
bear
made
a
viscous
attack
Sending
the
old
ringmaster
deep
Into
the
black
And
his
blood
was
everywhere
When
the
guards
they
did
arrive
Shot
the
bear
in
the
chest
So
she
did
not
survive
It
was
several
weeks
before
the
dust
Had
finally
settled,
and
once
it
had
A
new
ringmaster
arrived
He
wasn't
one
to
fool
around
His
methods
were
harsh
Bringing
the
animals
To
their
knees
For
when
animals
rebel
Tyranny
always
takes
control
Revolution
very
well
may
be
a
fierce-
Some
beast;
but
the
wake
of
rebellion
Is
a
death
of
dreams,
to
say
the
least
This
is
not
the
end
of
the
story
told
Within;
in
time,
the
animals
were
spared
Such
treatment
became
known
to
be
Wholly
unfair;
and
circuses
disbanded
Performers
going
separate
ways
To
the
jungle
all
around
Where
the
highways
are
found
And
clowns
do
clerical
work
For
money,
in
chains
If
you
wish
to
rearrange
it
all
Take
it
up
with
the
king,
I
hear
He's
quite
the
ringmaster
