Lyrics Cake For Breakfast - Written to Speak
I
ate
the
leftover
cake
from
your
birthday
for
breakfast
I
had
to
I
was
sad
I
know
it
wasn't
the
right
choice
but
it
also
wasn't
the
wrong
one
Also
it's
Monday
Again
They
never
seem
to
stop
arriving
And
that's
a
good
thing
or
so
I
am
trying
to
believe
Halfway
through
the
morning,
I
found
frosting
on
the
outside
of
my
hand
The
same
place
where
I
would
find
smudges
of
green
Crayola
marker
As
I'd
scribble
the
grass
in
my
2nd
grade
class
Back
when
I
looked
forward
to
Mondays
And
back
when
I
could
have
cake
for
breakfast
Well
a
muffin
But
we
all
know
muffins
are
just
morning
cake
Before
school
I'd
have
an
Otis
Spunkmeyer
Chocolate
Chocolate
Muffin
For
breakfast
because
I
didn't
like
eggs
or
oatmeal
Something
about
texture
And
I
really
just
wanted
cake
for
breakfast
I
mean
a
muffin
And
today
just
like
when
I
was
7
I
needed
to
begin
my
day
with
something
sweet
So
I
could
move
my
feet
Because
sometimes
you
just
need
to
have
Cake
for
breakfast
