Текст песни Chapters - Brotherhood

It′s that 80s baby, spent the 90s with a Nike trim
Used to want the trainers with the lights in
We made it through millennium bugs
The rise of the net
From hearing Britney and Blue to Grime on a set
I've seen it change but never change enough
Watching as my age grows
Always those that wanna stay the same as the same ol′
People never give up the chains until the chain's broke
We're all the same but still we ain′t though
If we ever bust it up
Know I′ll bring my brothers like the Wayans bros
I ain't trying suffer like some Jane Doe
Listen, this was written like the Nas classic
The past happened
I ain′t dwelling if I cant have it
I craft habits
Made a promise to myself from a teen
Don't leave your guard passive
Always know to go for your dreams or see your heart shattered
I′m in my 30s, can't be acting like it′s Neverland
But I'm sounding better than I ever have
Fuck it, this is me, can't let the chapter close
I′m sitting thinking how the acts evolved
And how my brother be the actual GOAT
Probably never get to see the ceiling or be people that they back the most
Back to back unil the plaque is gold
Writing in my room again
Yet to have my morning zoot
So if they call me unapproved I′m probably rude to them
'Cause though I′m calm, you hit the switch and it can get erratic
Used to hit the club and hit the stuff that left my liver damaged
1995 you'd see me lazing in my Spliffy jacket
Mumzy had to hustle had to bric-a-brac it
Handing out the hand-me-downs oversized
Always felt this pain I couldn′t vocalise
This life is scary like the older guy in Poltergeist
But I'm holding on and holding hope up into overtime
Hardly had a rest but half these heads don′t even mention us
Ain't where you start or where you are, it's where you′re ending up
90s kid, I was a shy head
Started spitting bars when I was 8, I didn′t write them
All courtesy of blaze till I was 9, 10
I don't remember much of life then
Mumzy working 2 jobs to provide when I just a baby
She′s living proof that I can trust a lady
Led by example so I can't be lazy
No-one′s gonna come and save me
See I knew from young this world was fucking crazy
Fucking crazy
Yeah
Grew up in Nacton across the road from the Nicholls
Around the corner from Fordy
It wasn't known for the brittle
It was petty crime but was evolving fast
Went from stolen cars to my closest holding a pistol
It′s nuts
Started as kids, we couldn't get away
Inherited beef had me rolling with some pepper spray
Never blades 'cause in the moment it can get insane
Every day thankful that I ain′t left to regret my ways
I used to wish I′d blown when I was younger
But I'm happy that I didn′t
I know that I'd be fucked up
I just needed to live
Needed to cry
Needed to fix
Needed to fly
That′s hard to cope with on the come up
Plus I hate the world
I don't want the stress
The older I get
The more I see fame is hell
Keep it and pay me well
Should′ve been a mask rapper
Too real to really buss anyway
Suh it nuh matter
Even though my face still looking proper young
I was playing snake up on my Nokia
Recorded a tape when mumzy got me one for Christmas
Way before I touched some mixers
Just a couple brothers born and bred in Ips
It never stopped us though
Had to climb the ladder
Got us working with our idols and our inspirations
S'been amazing
Scrolling through the moments that I tried to capture
I just pray this ain't my final chapter
It′s good to see you man out here bruv
Still looking exactly the same, ain′t aged
Sound better than ever, you get me?
There's a lot of people that just stop bro
You′ve kept it consistent throughout the years
And bro, I can't lie to you
You′re sounding better than ever bro
All I can tell man
Just don't fucking stop, darg
