I never really had a friend of my own
I once had a woman
I thought we were close
But that was then, another life and time
She was my lover, no friend of mine
And it was a man, a long time ago
That planted the seed
That now is this tree
Whose leaves are these stories
These words and these songs
Looking for a friend

There is a lady
In my neighbourhood
I go and see her sometimes
When I'm not feeling good

We would like to meet
But It's not easy to make a new friend
