In my freshman year of high school, we were awkward young teens
In gym class, learning how to lift weights
I felt the spark of attraction between pretty young Paula and I
We were standing near one of these leg press machines
It was fully racked with numerous plates
She said, I'll bet you could lift that, why don't you give it a try
And I was eager to impress her and take her out on a date
So with my skinny legs I strained to push forward the weight
All this pushing forced air loudly from my abdomen to pass
A great quantity of admittedly unpleasant smelling gas
I simply had no defense, There was nothing I could say
Paula rolled her pretty eyes and then she quickly walked away
So here's to Paula, wherever Paula may have ended up living
I hope her life has been a marvelous trip
Now, raise your leg up like you'd raise a glass with a toast you are giving
And Cut the cheese, break some wind and let one rip
We'd come to grandmas to visit, us kids were many in number
We all slept in their guest bedroom bed
My crazy aunt Sylvia had been appointed our adult chaperone
We were quieting down now, very soon would we slumber
When a lightning bolt of fun struck instead
We heard a noise like the quack of a duck or a loud saxophone
And we were holding our noses, we were screaming with laughter
We still laugh about it now nearly fifty years after
My aunt Sylvia nearly killed us with her intestinal perfume
She'll always be remembered for that night that she cleared the room
Some of us have died since then our paths in life parted
But We were so young and happy the night Sylvia farted
So here's to Sylvia, who gave us laughter, which we cherish the most
Forever she's a place in my heart
Now raise your leg up like you'd raise a glass when giving a toast
