In my tender young days, I sang unknowingly, and before I knew it, I was singing.
And before I knew it, I loved singing, I loved it dearly, and so I sang.
Whenever I had a free moment, I would hum a song.
I would sing as if there was nothing else to do in this world, as if singing was the only game worth playing.
I couldn't stand the way people looked down on singing, the way songs were so common.
So I couldn't resist, my dear, and I started writing my own songs,

And even the things I love, the things I love the most, may change and fade, such is the bittersweet nature of life,
Like rain falling on Mount Fuji, seeping deep into the earth,
To become a never-ending spring, nourishing the people.
