Every time his dad got drunk and beat him
He turned the hourglass and then couldn't see him
He escaped abuse and reclaimed his freedom
But at the cost he would see it was grim
Every moment in the desert he'd see then
All the moments the love just deceived him
The boy and the hourglass bleed just then
Together forever just a pair of heathens

Father has forsaken me

He broke it and out spilled the sand
