I'm standing here at sunrise
In a graveyard all alone
There's rows and rows of small white crosses
With boys names that made it home

And faintly someone calls my name

But I heard trumpets from above
That seemed to herald his message
That he came here because of love
And although I couldn't see him
I felt him there just like a friend
As I looked at his name tears fell I felt no shame

I've always felt that Jesus walks with me
To ease my troubled heart from pain
And I've felt the hand of Angels
Help hold me steady now and then
Oh thank you God for answering
This old man's one final prayer
And for sending my son down
To walk with me upon those stairs
