Mike Bryant - The Shenandoah Valley Songtexte

Songtexte The Shenandoah Valley - Mike Bryant

From eighteen sixty-one
The battle raged till sixty-five
So many good men fought there
And so many brave men died
They fought to gain control
Of a valley we all know
A valley we've all sand about
Called Shenandoah
Stonewall Jackson marched his men
For forty eight long days
Thousands marched six hundred miles
Or more to find their graves
The Allegheny and the Blue Ridge too
Mountains rumbled and the roared
As blood spilled on that valley
Of Shenandoah
Fishers Hill and Cedar Creek
Went down in history
In eighteen sixty four the union forces
bent their knees
In eighteen sixty five George Custer
Led the final blow
As the North defeated South
At Shenandoah
(Oh Shenandoah)
(Across the wide Missouri)
