Mike Bryant - This Purple Heart Songtexte

Songtexte This Purple Heart - Mike Bryant

This purple heart upon my chest
Stands for my share of hell
We faced the torture and the test
How could they tell us that we failed
We knew not where the enemy lay
A shot rang out and I fell
How long did I live
In unconcious days
Only to return back to hell
The day was hot the air was foul
A jungle that would give no breath
With tired bodies we pushed on somehow
While all around us there lay death
I flew home on a Red Cross plane
Arose from my bed
To see my homeland
"God Bless America I Pray"
And may her freedom ever stand
We knew not where the enemy lay
A shot rang out and I fell
How long did I live
In unconcious days
Only to return back to hell
We might as well be on our way
For in our minds can be no peace
We fight to live another day
And hope from our pain
We'll find relief
We knew not where the enemy lay
A shot rang out and I fell
How long did I live
In unconcious days
Only to return back to hell
We knew not where the enemy lay
A shot rang out and I fell
How long did I live
In unconcious days
Only to return back to hell
