The Promise

The Promise

Abraham was out in the heat sitting by his tent
Three men were sitting by Abraham's tent
And he was glad to have visitors
He told his wife Sarah to prepare dinner
Which was thought to be delicious by everyone

The men made a surprising announcement. They said
"Next year you and Sarah will have a son."

Now this was a shock because Abraham
And Sarah were too old to have children
Sarah laughed, for she did not believe them
Then, God said, "Why is Sarah laughing?
Is anything too hard for God to do?"

And the baby Isaac was born, even though Sarah and Abraham were old
God had kept his promise
